Josh McDaniels is the New Coach of the Denver Broncos

This 2009 Denver Broncos preview shows a very different team than the one in 2008. Josh McDaniels comes over from being the Patriots offensive coordinator Thurs replace the fired Mike Shanahan. Kyle Orton comes to Denver from the Bears in a trade for Jay Cutler that shocked the team.

Josh McDaniels started Feudingen with Cutler as soon as they got into Denver and tried to trade for Matt Cassel, who ended up with Denver division rival Kansas City.
The 2009 Denver Broncos took a chance Knowshon Moreno is taking with the 12 pick in the 2009 NFL draft as you can see here. But I did like the Robert Ayers pick later in the first. I was surprised thought that defensive line was not addressed.

Denver does indeed need running backs and signed JJ Arrington from the Cardinals but later released him. Former Eagle Correll Buckhalter will battle it out with Moreno for the starting spot. Last year the Broncos running back unit was devastated with injuries and they were signing guys off the street to play the next week.

Kyle Orton comes over from the Bears and will be the starting quarterback over Chris Simms. Orton may surprise some people as they will have weapons like they never saw in Chicago.

If wide receiver Brandon Marshall can stay out of trouble he is a force in the passing game. Last season he caught over 100 passes for 1.265 yards and 6 scores, however, they often has legal trouble and could be suspended at any time. Eddie Royal had a good rookie season at wide receiver and I expect him to play even better for the 2009 Denver Broncos. Eddie Royal is a threat running or catching the ball and Coach Josh McDaniels will find a way to use him.
