Dysart Kindergarten Students Share Turkey Preparation Lessons

Dysart-Kindergarten students at Dysart Elementary shared their ideas of the Thanksgiving holiday.

Elle Hookham: You get a turkey from a turkey farm. You kill the turkey and get the blood off. Next you put a thermometer in the turkey and cook it. My Mom will cook the turkey in the oven. She will cook the turkey for 90 minutes is kinda warm temperature. The door will beep when the turkey is done. With turkey, we like to eat bacon, mac and cheese, chocolate chip cookies, and milk. After we eat, we will go play the Wii.

Autumn Livingstone: We will buy a turkey at the store in Dysart. We will put the turkey in the frying pan and fry it for 18 minutes. My Papa will add grease to the turkey. Next we will take the turkey and put it in the sink. Papa will cut the turkey. We will need a fork and spoon to eat the turkey. With the turkey, we will eat corn, mashed potatoes and chocolate milk. I want Vanilla Ice cream for dessert.

Carlie Spore: My Mom or Dad will buy a turkey from a store. When we get home we will take the wrapper off the turkey and put the turkey in a pan with handles. Next you put the turkey in the door for 15 minutes on low. The door will beep when the turkey is done. Grandma and Grandpa will cut the turkey. With the turkey, we will eat Jell-O, mashed potatoes, Strawberries, grapes, and apples. We will have lemonadeto drink and chocolate pie for dessert. "When we are done eating, Grandma and Grandpa will play LittlestPet Shop with us.

TJ Freeland: We will butcher a turkey. My Dad will take an ax and cut its head off. Katie and Mom will pull the feathers off. Next we put it in a bag and put it in the freezer until Thanksgiving. When it is Thanksgiving, my mom will put it in a pot on the counter, and cook it for 63 minutes on high. We will put barbeque sauce on it before we eat it. With the turkey, I want to eat hot dogs and ice cream.
